Dawn Of War II

Hey im Kyle and im going to be reviewing Dawn of War II, Dawn of War II is a Real Time Strategy game (RTS) Developed by THQ based of off the popular tabletop and graphic novel series, Warhammer:40K. To say the very least this "Sequel" is VERY different from the previous Warhammer 40K RTS games, in the single-player and co-op campaign instead of having the normal build up your civilization RTS you are now in charge of 2-4 squads depending on the game type and you are building up their stats instead of advancing your civilization. Although this isn't the style of RTS I generally play it was none the less very interesting and still a very fun campaign that kept you on your feet and wanting more. I had a chance to play both the Co-Op and Single player variants of the campaign and was thoroughly impressed with it.

Above is the stat upgrades for one of the Squads and Below is the UI for the single-player campaign

As for the online multiplayer i was throughly unimpressed and only played a few rounds of it before i went back to the original Warhammer 40k RTS with the exception of one game type: The Last Stand... Much like every game now it has a survival gametype where waves of enemies come at you and your teammates increasing in speed, defense, and strength along the way... I could only get to round 9 because of those freakin shurikens but I assure you it is well worth it you will be hooked if you love these game types and especially if you love RPGs. As you progress along the rounds your character will increase in experience much faster than it would in campaign or multiplayer but after every level you get an upgrade to your hero causing them to shoot lighting or create a giant storm that you wouldve won with if it wasnt for those freaking shurikens! sorry got a little carried away there... However, as i stated before i could not stand the regular multi-player game type.

Overall I give Dawn of war II a 7 out of 10.
