World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Hey im Kyle and I finally Feel like i am ready to review World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm

My guild, IFNT of Bloodscalp-US, has just finished its regular clear of the current raid content that World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm had to offer this past week and we will be starting our heroic attempts this upcoming week. Each boss encounter in The Bastion of Twilight, Blackwing Descent, and Throne of the Four Winds has a very unique feel to them. You can tell that each encounter had alot of work put into them which is a satisfying feeling after the cheap knockoffs that Wrath of the Lich King had to offer not saying that it didnt have its own individual cool fights though. One of my favorite fights has got to be Al'Akir in The Throne of the Four winds, even though he drops pretty terrible loot and the fight has a very random phase one it was still very entertaining for me. The only complaint that i have of the current regular tier of content is that the trash pulls just take too long and Baradin Hold, the new PvP raid. It has the only "Tank and Spank" raid boss in this expansion, Argalorh, and although im a little disappointed in it, its was also expected to be seeing as this instance is "replacing" Vault of Archavon. Overall World of Warcraft: Cataclysm addes 4 new raids to World of Warcraft in its current patch of 4.0.X

The level 85 Heroics in Cataclysm brought their own set of challenges with them. In this expansion Ghostcrawler, Lead Systems designer for World of Warcraft, said that he wanted heroics to be a challenge in this expansion and for groups to complete them, they would have to use communication and various CC, Crowd Control, techniques so that there was a since of accomplishment when they were finally done and so that the gear wasnt just handed out like it was in Wrath of the Lich King. He certainly did accomplish this and with the raids the heroics too have a very unique feel to them with each encounter tailored so that it wasnt the same as the one before. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm added 7 new instances and revamped 2 of the old world instances making a total of 9 Heroics in the current patch of 4.0.X

Now onto the Gear of Cataclysm, I have finally achieved a full tankset of iLvL 359 or greater this raid week and will have my 4 piece tier 11 set although besides the tier gear the rest of the gear in cataclysm are pretty boring in terms of stats The major stats on similar pieces are piratically identicle and the only diffrence in the items are the substats not to mention that with reforging you can practically tailor any piece to what you want. Altough in terms of the way the gear looks I think that they did an excellent job and a majority of the gear matches the earthy feel of the entire expansion. The main differance in gear in Cataclysm is that it is much harder to get, which in my opinion is a good thing, It makes every piece that much more of an upgrade for you and gives you a since of accomplishment and although you can go an entire raid week with out getting an epic quality item I believe that it is a good change.

Now onto the PvP aspects of Cataclysm, this expansion added two new battlegrounds, Twin Peaks and The Battle for Gilneas, both of which while fun where based off of previous battlegrounds Twin Peaks being a glorified Warsong Gulch and The battle for Gilneas being a dumb downed version of Arathi Basain. Additionally the Arena system did not see any new maps added with Cataclysm which I have to say I am very disappointed in. Although not being an arena junkie and only doing the minimum amount of matches needed to reach conquets cap on the three current max level toons I have it wasnt a game breaker for me. Although one common complaint I have heard and i have to agree with is how it is much to easy to get the max level, iLvL 365, arena gear is to achieve in Wrath alot of the armor and all of the weapons required a minimum arena rating to get. In addition to this gear being very easy to aquire it also seems to be the most viable arena gear for PvE encounters to date in some cases, Ret paladins, it is best in slot on multiple slots.

Overall I think that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is one of the most unique expansions to date and has to be my favorite so far. And I am Eagerly awaiting the next patchs for the new raids and especially awating the Deathwing encounter!!!
