BW Recommended Peripherals

Hey Kyle here and im going to start a Black Wolves Recommended Peripherals list here

First and Foremost the Razer Megalodon, 3 of our clan members have this headset 2 of which where upgraded from the Razer Barracuda 5.1 surround sound headset this  head set is phenomenal after a quick firmware upgrade i have had no issues with this headset so far, and the mic quality is up to par. I was skeptical of the headset at first because I had issues with USB sound in the windows XP days but this headset is top notch and if you can afford it I would say it is a must buy.

Secondly is The Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Gaming Keyboard, 2 BW memebers use this key board which is fully mechanical nad has a 100ms polling rate absalutly phenominal keyboard with 5 additional macro keys and ingame macro making functionality additionally in the drivers you can make anyother key into a macro aswell although only the additional 5 keys can be made on the fly.

On to the next keyboard of choice for BW is the Razer Lycosa, although we replaced this keyboard with the Blackwidow Ultimate I would still like to give props to this keyboard it is under $100 and has the same macro making functionality that the Blackwidow has except for the on the fly macro making, although if your on a tight budget but still want a quality keyboard this one never gave me any problems.

Onto Mice, Mice are a very controversial issue within BW as they arnt very uniform, everyone likes a diffrent feel to there mouse altough a majority of us have gaming mice and love them I, Kyle, Have the Razer Lychasis, Thomas uses the Razer Deathadder(above) and charles uses the Logitech G9x all of which are laser mice, the G9x and the Lychasis are 5600DPI and the Deathadder is 3500 DPI depending on they way they feel all three are great mice and I havnt heard any complaints so far!!!

No rating on this one though :P

God of War III

Hey im Kyle and im going to be reviewing God of War III, This game should need no introduction to the playstation world this is the fifth installment of the God of War franchisee, publised by Sony, and boy was it EPIC to say the least in this RPG based off of greek mythology In this sixth and final chapter in the current storyline, Kratos and his allies, the Titans, storm Mount Olympus in an attempt to kill Zeus and the Olympian Gods. God of War III features gameplay similar to previous installments. The player controls the character, Kratos, in a combination of first-person/third-person combat. In addition to the combat there are many puzzle levels in the game which do occasionally grind gameplay to a halt on multiple occasions i had to look up the answers to these puzzles online so that i could make my way through the game although they are still very interesting and fun. Additionally in a very awkward scene there is a sex game mode where Kratos does get lucky, though weather or not he is any good in the sack is up to you. Alot of familiar attacks and some of the weapons make there return from the previous games and if you have been playing this seris as long as i have you will not be disappointed by the ending.

Overall I give this game a 9 out of 10.

Amnesia: The Dark Decent Demo

Hey it's Thomas again, aka Hoot, and I got a chance to play the Amnesia: The Dark Decent Demo and this is what I thought.

The first thing that comes to mind after playing the demo is the length of it, for a demo it is extremely short. With that being said, it was scary as all hell. Or it was just so scared that time seemed to be going by extremely fast. For those who don't know what Amnesia is: a first person survival horror. The game really focuses on immersion, discovery and living through a nightmare. If you are a bit confused, just imagine playing hide and go seek from raging blood soaked zombies, while trying to keep your sanity. That is the closest thing I can relate this game too. Now to the actual review of the demo.

Starting off, I've never seen a game like it, so bonus points there. It's under the category of first person survival horror and I would have to say it excels there too. Even if there isn't a monster around the corner or chasing you down a hallway, the game gets to you. Just sitting in the dark in the game freaks you out. Something I found interesting in the game is the status kept on your brain. You can start loosing you mind if you stay in the dark to long or stare at monsters for long periods of time. To counter the affects the player has to stay in light when he can to keep his character from cutting this own head off. There isn't a whole lot to the game really, just a basic objective.Survive.Only trick to it is, that it's easier said then done.

Over all I give the demo a 9.5.

GRID for Xbox

Hey im Kyle and im going to be reviewing Grid for Xbox 360, Grid was an amazing title for me I tend to play racing games on consoles and this has been one of the mroe realistic racers that ive played instead of just having your bumper fall of your cars bodywork to get dinged up you can actually damage your transmission, wheels, suspension, engine, and steering which added in a since of realism that other drivers dont often have. Although when you can damage your car you also want a way to have a redo or restarting the race would just be a pain in the ass every single time that you tapped a wall and damaged a tire so that added in the replay feature allowing you to have a redo a certain amount of time per circuit before you had to restart the race completely, this allowed you to have occasional fuck ups but also not let you just master each corner one at a time until you won the race you still only had about 1/2 a redo per lap so you still need to have driving skill.

Obviously with higher difficulty setting you get less replays and the NPC drivers are more intelligent. Another neat aspect of this game is the team management, you can have a team mate that can help win events and make more money for your team so that you can get cars faster, additionally you have sponsorships so that instead of just winning you could have secondary objectives like get above 2nd place and take no damage and you get an additional $200,000 this allowed you to customize the way you get you money. Starting off in the game you could also be a freelance driver and be hired by other teams to race for them though as the game progresses and you get better sponsorships the less of a need there is to do that seeing as they are much lower paying. The online multiplayer is basically what you would expect from a racing game obviously you cant use flashbacks but none the less still a very interesting play!!!

Overall I give this game an 8 out of 10

Dawn Of War II

Hey im Kyle and im going to be reviewing Dawn of War II, Dawn of War II is a Real Time Strategy game (RTS) Developed by THQ based of off the popular tabletop and graphic novel series, Warhammer:40K. To say the very least this "Sequel" is VERY different from the previous Warhammer 40K RTS games, in the single-player and co-op campaign instead of having the normal build up your civilization RTS you are now in charge of 2-4 squads depending on the game type and you are building up their stats instead of advancing your civilization. Although this isn't the style of RTS I generally play it was none the less very interesting and still a very fun campaign that kept you on your feet and wanting more. I had a chance to play both the Co-Op and Single player variants of the campaign and was thoroughly impressed with it.
